Okay guys. I'm from northern Ohio... I was raised that something is really worth what someone is willing to pay on the day you need rid of it. I am running a 2015 DCSB Trd Sport. I have no intentions of selling it. Every time I cruise the net and see prices, I see people asking more for my truck than I paid new for it. I paid $31500. I guess the question is: Are people actually paying this for these trucks? Are banks willing to lend this for these trucks?
I love my Taco, but a extended cab tundra is way more truck for the same money. I guess I'm dumbfounded that these people are asking this... Are they getting this much or asking?

I bought mine with mild hail damage for thousands off. I always get a laugh when I see a used one with 30K miles going for $7K more than I paid for mine brand new.

Just my .02 but I think the new body style and motor/tranny raised the value of the 2nd gen to some.

Oh hell no. With all the butt hurt we read everyday on here you had to go there? We all think it, but we dare not say it. It's guys like this that think two different bathrooms are enough! Pandora's box has officially been opened. We've come to far, and now it can't be undone!!!!

meh, same shit happened when Dodge changed the body style in 2002. All the Cummins folks and fans were up in arms over that fugly thing. Overrated and imagined silliness over aesthetic differences when there were actually decent improvements with the vehicle---just never buy a first model year.;)

I can save the thread... Just like little league we won't keep score. Everyone gets a trophy. Everyone gets a pizza party. No score, no harm... Everyone loves every Taco equally. No need for butt hurt. It's all good! Right? I hope. I'm gonna go hide in the funny pics thread. It's my "safe space"

Did you assume I meant Op as in "original poster" and not Op as in "Other poster"? :pccoffee:

Same truck, ponder the same question. Paid 31,200.00 new. 22,000 miles on it now, considering selling for full size. What's it really sellable for?

There has to be something to this....place I bought my truck for is offering me $500 more than I paid for it 30k miles ago + incentives towards a tundra. Granted this way they'll keep me financing with Toyota and pick up a new customer with the Tacoma so minor differences in sale price won't matter much but there has certainly been a spike in newer second gen value recently or at least "perceived value".

    Asking.

Plenty of clowns out there trying to sell their trucks for what they paid years ago, and they sit and sit.

Dealers will throw out non sense that they will pay you back what you initially bought the truck for. Yada yada.

These trucks hold their value, but good luck selling on without taking a depreciation hit.

#1 Tacomas maintain their value more than any other car on the nation.

#2 The new 2016+ models came with a new jacked up price tag that raised the value of the 2nd Gen.

$30k for a 2015 TRD Sport is a decent deal. Unfortunately these trucks do cost that much.
