I read through all the pages. No one has yet to post actual instructions on how to re-torque the prop shaft. Can someone please post instructions or at least the pictures of the bolts we need to retorque?

Is that all? One post said 65ft-lbs. Another post talked about taking a u-joint apart to get to a specific bolt. Another post mentioned 2 different torque settings that we needed to torque to the first one and then back off and retorque to the second one. I just want to be sure. Thanks for your help!

The one where you remove a u joint to re torque the nut is incorrect, you would need to replace the u joint everytime you do it, and the Toyo techs def aren't removing a u joint just to torque a nut. For the other ones, 63 or 65 ft#'s it really isn't that big of a deal, but 63 is in the FSM.

This site is great! I noticed it's meant for 2005-2009, would all of the maintenance here still apply to a 2012? Are there any additional things I should be checking? Thanks

i don't see any references to the throttle body, does it need to be cleaned? I was going to clean it out this weekend but it's not even recommended?

Do front and rear differential oils really need to be replaced at 60K versus 100K? I have a 2010 Tacoma 4x4 6-cylinder with only road use and no towing/hauling. I had one dealer quote 60K service at $367 and another at $149. The lower one did not include differential oil change and that a lot of customers wait till 100K. Thoughts appreciated.

depends on how you use your truck. if you drive hard, tow , or off road then I would change it.

What's everyone's take on the Brake Flush, Power Steering, and Fuel Flush every 36,000 miles inst that a little much? IDK the dealer recommends it because of the valvoline will give you money if something breaks its SO pricey!!!

Power steering and brake flush is not hard to do, and should be done more frequently than not. Fuel flush, happens every time I start my truck up.

Please do not wait to do your differential fluids, I did mine around 20-25k miles, can't remember and the front and rear diff fluids were completely black with lots of tiny metal flakes, my rear end came with 1 quart less from the factory and I didn't know it until I drained it. Super easy to do, it's like changing oil, but easier, no need to lift truck up either. I bet yours is probably dark and tinted with metal shavings. This was normal hwy, city driving, no towing or anything crazy.

I used about 7 quarts in total to do front, rear, and transfer case. AMSOIL severe gear 75w-90 fluids. It drives smooth as butter compare to the old stuff.

I know this is an old thread, but I figured I'd add the below maintenance guide for anyone that may be searching for additional information. The maintenance intervals are towards the end of the guide.
