upgrade sound system in access cab?

what have you done?

 

Kenwood DNX-512 Head Unit, JL Audio VR 6x9, JL Audio XR Tweets, JL Audio 6.5" VR (Rear), speakers powered by JL Audio G4500. Speaker adapters by Mr.Marv.

 

I recently just installed my old Orion H2 10.4 subwoofer in a ported box, Orion 1200D amp. It's currently housed right behind the drivers seat. I also have a Pioneer DEH-5900IB head unit. Waiting on it to croak so I can upgrade.

 

Eclipse 7100 HU, Memphis 16-MCA3004 & Memphis 16-MCD500D Amps, Focal 165 K2P Comps in Front, PPI 356cs Comps in Rear, JL 13TW5 Sub, JL Wires. Silenced with Sound Deadener Showdown Products. Box, Baffles, and Amp Rack made by Me.

Kenwood 493 Excelon head unit.

Front stage, Polk DB 6 1/2 components driven by a Kenwood 60x2 RMS amp under passenger seat.

Rear stage, Kenwood 3 way 40 watt RMS coax.

Sub, JL 12 inch W1V2 in a JL enclosure driven by a MTX Jackhammer at 300 RMS under driver seat.


System sounds incredibly clean at all volume levels. JL sub fits perfectly on the floor between the driver's seat and the rear seat when folded up. Hits hard enough that it feels like I am getting punched in the side.


I did some sound deadening on the back wall and in the front doors. Still have a couple sheets left, waiting to see where I want to put the rest of it. I'm thinking of putting another 2 sheets on the back wall and then one day pulling the head liner to put a bunch on the roof.

all powered by a alpine pdx 5 amp

biggest key was tuning the HU. after that was done it sounds like a champ. way more system than i need. heck, i barely go past 10 on the volumue, which is less than a third of it's potential. maxes at 35.
