Anyone got a 3rd Gen with one of those Contractor Type Camper Shells? I'm thinking this might be a good option as it would be easy to mod and attach stuff to it. I'd like to see some pics of what you have.

Yes, the Deluxe Contractor's Unit (DCU) I think. I was just hoping to see some on a 3rd Gen just to get an idea about going that route.

here you go, bud. let me know if there's anything in particular you want to see and i'll see if i can get to it next time i have access to the trucks. this is on a TRD Sport DCLB 4x4, we also have a DCSB. also the ladder racks were optional, but we needed them.

Excellent. Can you tell me the cab height? They measure from the bed rail to the roof. I was trying to decide which one..... I'm thinking that is a 23" model and they have a 20" one that might sit closer to level with the cab roof.

just measured. our's is the 25" model. 20" looks like it will be about flush with the cab.

If it was me id get a topper with the shelves in the side doors so u can stow recovery gear and other things. Plus still have use of the bed. Instead of side doors to just reach into the bed like above.

I've been debating this. I plan on using the shell for camping and what not..... I really want the doors so I can get to stuff in the bed without having to crawl in..... plus I might do the contractor windoor option.

The nice thing about the way these are made is that you should be able to modify it every which way, mounting shelves, quick fists, blah blah blah since you would have that aluminum frame to mount stuff to. Plus you get the strength of the frame for stuff on top.

Not as pretty as the fiberglass, but purely functional.
