I was at the Toyota dealers last week looking at and test driving Tacomas... SR, SR5, Limited... not Sport, TRD, or the PRO though.

Dollar for dollar.. .The Ridgeline met my needs/wants better. Felt better driving it. Better fit/finish. It was apparent, quickly, which vehicle I was buying.

... and yet you're hanging out in the Tacoma forum?

I looked at the Ridgelines. I imagine it'd have done most of what I need/want a truck to do. I didn't test drive one though; just seeing it in person was enough to know I simply didn't like the interior, didn't like the rear seat setup, and just plain disliked the overall look / lines. No way I'd drop $40k on something I think is ugly.

I "hang out" on toyota jeep, gmc, Nissan, ford, and dodge truck forums. Why? Because I am interested in trucks and what people are saying about the vehicles. Helps in deciding future purchases.

I looked at Honda, Toyota, GMC twins, and Nissan. Ended up buying a Nissan Pro 4x. While the Frontier has not changed much since 2005, I liked the slightly smaller size, the engine/drive train and the drive/ride quality. Just could not bring myself to spend almost 40k for the Toyota or Honda, when the "dated" Frontier meets my needs. It reminds me of my 06 Tacoma.

Purchasing a vehicle is personal choice. imo, all manufactures have plus/minus going for them. A person should choose the one they prefer.
Do you remember when the 3g Tacoma was being released. People on this forum stated the front was ugly. Yet , look at the sales now and no one is calling it ugly. Go figure.:D

Yep. Buying something other than what best fits your needs/wants/budget is dumb.

I was a Honda guy, had a 2004 Civic EX for ~11yrs and a 2014 CR-V EX for ~2 but after my 2014 CR-V - they lost me. I looked briefly at the Ridgeline and it reminded me of a CR-V too much. Well it is a Pilot with different sheathing.... So basically, it is a Pilot with a truck bed for a Home Depot weekend warrior type. I personally did not like it, so I looked at Tacoma, and the GM twins. I drove all three (mostly the Colorado LT and Tacoma) I love the Tacoma. However, we all have likes, wants, opinions etc... The Ridgeline fits you have at it. A 3500 Duramax diesel is what you want, have at it.

I started this thread (Post #1). I have certainly enjoyed reading the posts that came afterward. As I stated in the original post, my intention was simply to share the review with TW members. I love my 3d gen and have no interest in owning a Ridgeline although they appear to be well designed for the market I assume Honda is targeting. The majority of the posts were very insightful and informative but, as with any long thread, some appear to be written by idiots with limited vocabulary skills and education...but that's America. I say it is time to shut this thread down!

I think buying a vehicle is all about how it makes you feel. I feel like I want to vomit when I look at the Ridgeline.

The Murano doesn't seat 7. It seats 5.

The Rogue, which is smaller than the Murano, offers a 3rd row option.

Makes no sense but there you go.

Should of said Pathfinder lol, but the concept stands :).

I haven't been in the new Murano. What I know about it came from a Rogue test drive since the salesperson seemed determined to upsell us a Murano.

Honda's are great vehicles. I'm glad the Ridgeline is out even though I wouldn't buy one. Give more competition and will help drive it's competitors.

these are the halcyon days of TW.
Soon there will be the Ranger and new Frontier to add to the debate. Maybe a new Dakota and Jeep pickup to add to the mix-fun times.....

Yes, the topic is good conversation. Giving my feedback for potential buyers for either/or.

Prices start at $30K. Varying levels or trim and features up to and through $42k.

I would of needed to get a Limited Tacoma $40,xxx MSRP, $37,xxx Invoice to get similar features to my RTL-T Ridgeline at $38,xxx MSRP, $35,xxx Invoice. So in our case of needs and wants, we would of received less for more money by buying the Tacoma Limited.
