I'm wanting to get a light bar for my 2010 Tacoma and put it in the lower part of the grill. I've seen people put 22" and 30" light bars in there before. I'm curious if a 32" light bar (total of 34.5" width) will fit? Also does it have to be a straight bar or can a curved bar fit in there? And do I need to get special brackets or will the brackets it come with work in that spot?

    Thanks

I got strait for grill.. ill buy curved for windshield..
Most lights bars are (like mine) "32" with brackets included.. they do sell 34" bars.
And i think it will fit. I have room on mine either side. I would of course measure yours before purchase.
the mounts can be bought from rigid, cbi ,caliraised (for probably more $than you will pay for the light bar itself.)
Or you can follow a diy thread like

I have what was listed as a 32" bar from Amazon installed on my 2012. I drilled into my crash bar extension and carefully torqued down with lag bolts. It fills the opening like it was made for it and is a strait bar. I'm not sure how different the pre '12 grille openings are from the post 12s tho.

20160627_113140.jpg Put a 34" light bar in mine with the mounts on the light bar included in that measurement. I made my mount with an L shaped bracket you can by from lowes or home depot. I had to put two verticle flat brackets mounted to the L shaped bracket as the L shaped bracket did not come up high enough to reach where my light bar needed to be mounted to be straight. I drilled a hole, one on both sides, all the way through, on the aluminum bumper stops and bolted my L shaped bracket to that. One on each side. I did it all without removing a thing. Did not remove my bumper, grille, or head lights like i have seen other people do. Also, i obviously had to cut out the slots in my lower grille. Wiring it was probably the more tricky part. But there is an AMAZING thread on here for that...
