    Thanks.
I've already paid for steps but waiting for install. Just need to choose the type of steps I want. Heard that sliders would be better?

Sliders are better for offroading, they're designed to take a hit and protect the sides of your truck from rocks. They also work as steps.

Side steps are great as side steps but if you hit them offroading they'll get banged up/destroyed.

Sliders bolt to the trucks frame. Those look like they bolt to underside of the cab (the body).

I called Body Armor, the manufacturer. He said the brackets mount to the pinch welds
They can be used as jack points and will protect the body but the steps have small lips on the bottom. No good?

No good. You want them to weld or bolt to the frame. One hit and those "sliders" will be toast.

What about N-fab sliders? The sliders are permanent but the steps are removable. Are these the real deal?
