I don't know about you but if I had a rear diff fail on me while driving which could potentially cause a serious accident. I wouldn't feel comfortable with toyota replacing it with the same part. I would have them warranty it... then I would trade it in immediately.

Didn't Toyota have sticky gas pedals? Bunch of accidents/deaths.

And yet people still by toyotas. Go figure.

I know that 2 of the people on the forum had them fail out on the highway, it is amazing that they did not end up in an accident, I know the 1 guy said he would never drive it again after that.

Okay you're right. Maybe just reassign him to floormat development for the Corolla.

Outside of this forum, Tacoma sales are looking pretty damn healthy. I doubt Seatbelt Mike is worried about his job.

It's nice that they are selling with minimal incentives and no special financing but January and February sales for the Tacoma has been kind of flat.

    http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2017/03/usa-pickup-truck-sales-figures-february-2017.html?m=1

February sales are only up 0.6% and January sales were down -1.6%. GM twins shown positive gains for both those months so they are on an upwards trend.

Maybe consumer reports is throttling Tacoma sales a little bit.

GM is using incentives. Car sales in general are slowing. Gonna give yourself an aneurism worrying about resale/reliability/etc. with the 3rd gen.

It really is a nice looking truck and it has some great features that I really enjoy. But damn if this isn't the worst engine/transmission pairing I've owned (18 vehicles so far). But I tested it and bought it. I can't blame Mike alone for my frequent wincing.

I don't mind it most of the time, except from a stand still, like trying to get on the freeway, pass someone, pull out quickly, then I fucking hate it.

I've been following truck sales figures at pickuptruck.com for a few years. They post monthly sales numbers with change vs last year and last month.

I've always seen the Tacoma rise in sales numbers by at least a couple percent, until these past 2 months.....

Toyota as a whole is down 7% compared to last year along with many other manufacturers. Economic slowing contrary to what the stock market my indicate, consumer spending is down and that nasty inflation word is being thrown around. The 3rd gen sucks theories are starting to get old.
