I went to Toyota today and bought a water pump, timing belt, and spark plugs. I paid $244 for everything. When I got home I was doing a few google searches on any other parts I might need. I came across this kit with everything I need to replace but it's easily a good $150-$200 cheaper than if I just got it all from Toyota. What are the chances it's counterfeit or relabeled parts?

    Here's a link.

EDIT : I still need the thermostat which is $60 plus the pulleys which I'm guessing are around ~$60ea and belts maybe ~$25 EA.

Dealerships are always known to jack up (off?:D) prices.

Also, unless that is just a generic picture, I'm pretty sure out water pump gaskets are supposed to look like wangs.

Yeah but that's a pretty significant savings.

Gasket is the same one I got. The ones you are referring to are for the 4bangers I believe

Wait, you said you'd paid $244. The kit you linked is $280.

    I am confused.

Well I also ordered a thermostat which was ~$60....still need the pulleys, belts, and whatever else is included.....just speculating the pulleys are ~60 each and belts are ~20 each

there are two kits on ebay, ok well 4 actually, one kit is the basic kit with most of what you "need" to change and the other is the complete kit that comes with "everything" including fan belts and tensioners.

two of the kits are made up of good quality parts but not necessarily the same oem brands as Toyota uses and then there are the two other of the same kits that cost more because they are only including factory oem "brands" parts

the same guy sells both versions of these kits in both "oem brand" or "aftermarket brand" choices so just read carefully what the description says and send the seller a question to be sure you know what you are buying before you buy

AS I MENTIONED READ CAREFULLY AND IF YOU ARENT SURE....... ASK IN THE ASK QUESTION ABOUT IT LINK ON EBAY AD

he sells both versions of the kit and recreates the ads every now and then so the number sold means nothing

the one that is all oem parts SAYS ITS ALL OEM PARTS if it doesn't say it then its not

the one in the link says:

Premium kit with only genuine and original equipment parts. All parts are the exact same as the original parts on Toyota.

it cant get much clearer or plainer English then that guys

the ebay seller with a reputation we have come to trust is aircabinman

this would be the "basic" genuine oem parts kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/V6-3-4-TIMI...750996?hash=item2c5f7f7a94:g:aGYAAOSwnDZUFgTb

and this is the "complete" genuine all oem parts kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/180729034728

I hope that make things clear for everyone

    OME and worth every penny.
If you go to the description it list the manufacturer of each part. I trust them but you have to read carefully. Remember, as old as these trucks are getting Toyo. no longer makes anything for them and buys their parts from vendors also.

actually Toyota "never" made anything for them, almost everything for these trucks came from outside manufacturers and was made by asin, with just a few exceptions like belts and hoses and few other things like that, so just about any replacement part that is the "asin" brand, will be a genuine oem exact replacement part but cheaper then getting one with a Toyota sticker on the box

Take into account, most part departments run at leat a 30% margin on parts...

Either they MUCH higher than 30% or the parts are cheaper for a reason.

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
Aircabinmam is who I bought a kit from. As far as I could tell the kit was exactly what it was listed to be. I was happy...
