Plate bumper FTW - there's a few that have BSM mounting points... the rest will buff out at the body shop. Sorry for your loss.

You can see now how crappy that plastic bumper is... not even worth getting another one.

I got rear-ended at the 1 year mark, by another TACO!

I went through my insurance, waived my deductible, and had them send the bill to the other insurance company. My opinion, I pay the insurance company to negotiate. I called my company sent the pictures they told me where to go fix it and they forwarded it to the other company. Plus since its under 18 months, my company only does new parts atless its something minor that is easy to fix.

You got hit in the perfect spot for a hi-clearance bumper replacement. I wish I'd get hit in the same spot...

I'm in So Cal freeway traffic 18 miles each direction every day, I'm almost tempted to disable my brake lights I want a HC bumper so damn bad. My bed is already caved in like his from trail damage the pending collision.

He can go through his own insurance but if his insurance pays to replace when it could have been repaired then the 3rd party insurance company can decline to pay for all of it if they don't think the replacement of the panel was warranted.

When my bed got backed into I was quoted around $1300 from reputable shops in town. My damage was much worse than the dents I've seen in this thread. I ended up just buying a used bed online and just replaced it because it allowed me to get rid off all the previous bed damage that insurance wouldn't cover.
