I have a '17 TRD-Pro due for delivery early next week.

I put hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars into the stereo of my last truck and, frankly, I'd rather not do that again. However, it sounds like this Tacoma does not even have a subwoofer built in?

With a little research I see this OEM Audio Plus has a system that will drop into all the factory positions.

But, the question is, will I be happy? The last one was extreme overkill. But will this be enough?

You're asking us to be your ears.

    We can't.

Wait and decide for yourself. See if you can find a system like you are thinking of installed in a similar truck. Not a sound room, not a car. A first cousin.

The factory sound system in my Brocoma is ridiculous... Makes me feel like I'm back in 1990s whenever I crank the volume

How much is OEM Audio Plus and where can I get it? Is it easy to install?

I happen to install an OEM audio plus system over the past two days.
Needless to say I was extremely disappointed in the stock system, but I had no desire to change out the head unit.I wanted it to look stock. After countless hours of reading about differt options I read about several other TW members experiences. Still wasn't sold. I called there # and Spoke with Daniel. Clearly he knew what he was talking about knew car audio. I was thoroughly impressed by his knowledge and made me feel good about my purchase. I'm super picky about my audio , my other car is a BMW 550 and it has a Bang and Olufsen car stereo that was a $4,500 option. Let's just say I was not disappointed one bit and thoroughly impressed. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I have no skin in the game other than super happy and satisfied customer.

Well, I suppose "Will I Be Happy?" was kind of a silly question.

However, I can't just "wait around" and hope someone may come along to this icy corner of Northern Ontario and just happen to have this installed for me to audition.

The last truck had 300W to each door with bi-amped Alpine Type X components and 1000W feeding two 10" Type X subs in a sealed box.

Obviously, this ain't that. I just hate to dump $1500US into something that I end up ripping out and replacing in a year. The last one took me over 400 hours to install. I don't want to do that again.

I had an OEM+ system in my previous car (wrx) and it was fantastic. I'm waiting a while to decide whether my ears can tolerate the stock entune....but may end up getting an OEM+ for the Taco as well.

If you can swallow the price tag, I highly recommend.

We all have different tastes. But for me, the system offers a full, detailed sound stage with adequate base. I am not into the punchy, rattle ur windows bass any longer, but to each there own.

Yup, it was a significant improvement over the stock system. Night and day, really.

I think standard Toyotas like the Tacoma have a well-earned reputation for having crappy stock stereo systems. If you ever take out the OEM speakers you'll see why.

I need to do something with mine. The front speakers sound okay, but the speakers in the rear access doors sound like total shit.

I am a stereo nut. Every car, truck ive owned has been upgraded. I have a system in my Ford Ranger that was similar to your extreme system.

I also did not want to go through all that again so I purchased the OEM 450 system. It is amazingly crisp and clear. It will not rattle windows but it will rattle your mirror. It has plenty of bass for me. Imo it's very much worth it especially since it only takes a few hours instead of weeks to build and install.
