Just came from the stealership . They said they need to remove the front bumper to switch out the headlights , about 3 hours labor .I said no thanks, give me my keys ....bye bye . I will tackle this my self after the 5 days of rain stops .

 

That's such bull what they want to charge, very easy swap.
I did the BHLM
It was a little tedious figuring out the tilting part of the headlight to remove it and the body trim under the headlight was a pain.
When releasing that trim piece do not pull on it to hard

 

I even mentioned the way it's stated in this thread . The part about removing the plastic inner fender to reach the one bolt instead of removing the bumper .

 

Ya you don't have to remove the bumper just turn your tire for some clearance it's a little tight
I found drivers side harder than passenger for some reason

 

Could not imagine paying $300 in labor to replace the headlights . I think they are either dumb , lazy or thieves.

 

I never removed anything to get to those bolts on mine, I just laid on the ground and reached up there with a short 10mm socket on a small 1/4" drive ratchet and had no trouble getting them out.

 

Hi everyone. I got my '11 and both of the headlights are pretty shaggy. Cracked, clouded, melted and my DRL's are different shades of amber. Do any of you have a good suggestion on where to get replacements? I've been watching the ads here and following my local CL. I've seen what appear to be decent replacements on ebay. Just wondering if there's a preferred vendor or brand etc.

changed my passenger side headlight on sunday after hitting the back of a Uber Avis Rogue after he stopped half way through a right hand turn. i was checking left figuring he made the turn and hit him at maybe 5mph. first thing i see is shards of headlight flying through the air.
needed a headlight replacement asap as i leave for work @ 0315 and my safety inspection for tag renewal is this month.
found one on FBM for $65 shipped. got it in two days.
anyway it took about two hours to remove the old one and replace it. you tube is your friend.

 

For those of us who no longer have that lower hard to reach bolt, does anyone know the size and thread pitch so they can be replaced?

 

I know it's an old post but the next time I remove the headlights I'll figure it out and post here for others to reference as well. (unless you already found the info and want to post it up for future reference)

 

I actually have the OEM part number for the bolt. I bought from an online dealer parts store for .85c a piece.
