I've rented a cabin on Canyon Lake this summer and was wondering if anyone has any experience here. I have a bay boat that drafts about like a bass boat. Not really planning on fishing much just hanging out. The east Texas lakes I'm used to are full of stumps. Is that an issue here? What are the things to look out for or avoid? Any input is appreciated.

We stay at a lake house out on canyon lake every other year. check out Guadalupe river state park for sure. If you can make the driver Garner State Park is even better from what ive heard. I've never made the drive as I like to stay near the lake house

also check out granny d's, they got some decent food for fair prices.

You should not have a problem. Garner and the Frio is great if you can make the drive very scenic if you take the back roads. Not near as crowded as around the Guadalupe.
