Back for another night shift of surfing the forum. Got the taco back today. Flex plate replaced and both knock sensors replaced (warranty swap cause they failed) and on the way into work... CEL came back :frusty: gonna take it back tomorrow... Again... And get it looked at once more. It's been free but taking too damn long.

Hey all, ran into Jimmy (the guy designing my bedsides) and this time I took some pictures.

    IMG_1810.jpg IMG_1811.jpg IMG_1812.jpg

I let him know about C&C next week, and (in front of his boss) mentioned that is would be a great opportunity to talk wraps for folks who want to prevent pinstripes and trail rash. His boss has old 4Runners and Land Cruisers, so they're good folks.

Gonna email Jimmy later and give him some specific thread links. :spy:

Can't wait to see his ideas for my bedsides, either.

Anyone interested in a Wheeling 101? Britt and Mike are both really good wheeling buddies of mine and seriously know their stuff. Would be a perfect opportunity for people getting to know the community. All they ask for is functioning 4WD and some enthusiasm. Been part of Heart of Texas for a hot minute now, Mike and Britt are also members of GATOR (who are the crazy Toyota guys around town and some of the most fun people ever to wheel with) and would be a huge help to anyone interested in getting off the pavement.

Be sure to register for the event, like he asked, so they can have an accurate head count.

Blasted through 3 drill bits. One was already going out, but had a fresh dewalt cobalt bit that dulled up pretty quick. It definitely wasn't for lack of lube either. Other than that, all went well.

I learned these switch pros are internally circuit protected so there is no need for a panel with fuses. What many use are termination blocks for both the power and the ground for each of the 8 switches. These get mounted on a plate next to the switch pro controller and have the 8 switches wired up. Then you can connect whatever accessory to the termination block not messing with any of the switch pro wiring, just the cheap termination block.

Ever noticed how much my truck leans? The side that's up (over 2" above the driver's side) is the same side that keeps breaking. The CVs (except my two dramatic breaks from wheeling) always brake on that side and it's always the top prong things getting unseated from the bucket. It also mostly happens when I flex that side down. The first break (the OEM break + spider gears) broke the first trip after the lift install. Ever since the lift install I break a CV almost every trip. So Wednesday I'm gonna pull the leaf springs (ones flat the other is arched) and see if all is good. Then gonna pull and try and tune the coilovers, probably lower them.

Until then, here's inside the old (thought to be broke) locked diff:
    IMG_2906.jpg

Got it apart mind bogglingly fast
