TBM experience (Tacomas, Beer, Music)

I started off with a handme down Huffy from my brother. I made do with what I was able to get. He wasn't into things like that and I converted what I could to turn into a "freestyle" type bike. It was actually a pretty good frame and that thing most definitely took some abuse. Never cracked or anything. My brother then got some "store" bike and eventually gave that one to me. Never did know who it was made by, but I took parts from the Huffy and put it on my "new" bike. I had just started a paper route and was trying to save up for a GT Performer (I.e. this was around the mid/late 80's era). My friends started getting into road bikes and I eventually did as well because it was hard to keep up with them, LOL!!! I was a rebel to the end, LMAO!!! I never really could get into the road bike scene... too many F'N "snot nosed people" that thought their shi* didn't stink!!!

Anyways, I don't remember what that frame was, but it wasn't bad for what it was and it never cracked either (I.e. the down tube near the crank or the goose neck area, etc). Finally, I never got that GT because what I had saved went to a Fuji Sport. At least I was able to keep up with my friends after that, LOL!!!

I was looking at GT's new 2017 Performer "comeback" and don't care for it too much. Although, I do like the neon yellow with black speckles paint scheme!!! But, for a flatland freestyle type bike, I'd have to buy quite a bit just to get it to that point of how I want it and I like Haro's 2017 Leucadia DLX, but also like the 2017 Lineage Team Sport, but for that price I'd rather buy new/better suspension for my truck, LMAO!!!

Lol i had a huffy to! Toys r us special, it was orange and black.
Had a 20in chrome Dimond back stolen
Had 24in redline stolw
And a 21 speed shwing!

Yeah, flexibility I question myself as well, LOL!!!

I've seen vids of heavy dudes doing some pretty crazy shi* though, so I wouldn't worry too much about weight as far as that goes.

My main limiting factor is money, LOL! It's either save for a bike or save for the truck?! It's favoring the truck!!! LMAO!!! I want to turn my rust bucket into my own personal style trophy truck, LOL!!! That is, get wheels and tires and that's about it, LOL!!!

I actually did that back in days when i had a CW"Lightning Bolt"frame!Snapped in that general area where there lightning bolt was on the lower down tube.I wanted another frame obviously because of how cool they were but my dad said no.CW granted us a refund and those particular frames weren't available very long for purchase due to the malfunction of the design.

Example of what i was referring to.Was actually called the CW "CZ" frame.Were so badass when released and sought after at the time in the 80's and i had one for a short period of time.

Too expensive and waaay over the top for what I do. LOL!!! I do want to get, possibly, Camburg UCA's so I can have that little bit of extra travel. I hear good things about AP leafs??? I want to get slightly wider wheels w/ 31 1050's and like a few wheels that Black Rock Wheels offers (I want to stay with steelies).

Since baseball season is around the corner and i'm a diehard Pittsburgh sports teams in general fan i decided to add the patch in the pic with the mix of the others!Story behind the patch is i was born in Pittsburgh,PA.in 1973(August 8th)and the All Star Game was in Pittsburgh in 1974(Three Rivers Stadium).Wasn't even a yr old yet and obviously wouldn't remember the day but i know my dad and uncle took me to the game!Now to find my STEELERS and Penguins patches and add them as well!

Should be getting the"EAF" and "Tacomaworld"patches this week in the mail as well!

 

Still waiting for them to turn it up to 11. NT bad for a tribute band. Lotus Land. Penn's peak, Jim Thorpe, PA. Great venue though!

@ODNAREM Hi Ron! Just checked out the baseball schedule, Pirates coming to San Diego the weekend of July 29th! You want to go? I would prefer going to the Sunday 7/30th day game. I know it's 4months away but let me know what you think!
