So I have an odd question for y'all I live in Roanoke and with Virginia's laws on modified exhaust to my understanding is if you want to change over to dual pipes its illeagle to do so if no module of your truck has been sold with dual exhaust. Is this correct thinking or am I compleatly off base???? Also need to know if headers are going to help or hurt the 3.4 performance wise

I'm not sure but I think if you simply change the muffler to being one with 2 outlets and run 2 tail pipes yor fine. The inspector is primarily just going to be checking for leaks not the exhaust configuration. I would think running true dual exhaust would be a giveaway and also throw your ECU into a tail spin with the different exhaust parameters

So your saying that just making it two in two outs gonna be fine but putting the headers on it's gonna screw up the system

the computer should relearn the system with the headers. I just put the LCE header on mine a couple of months ago and it takes a couple of days for the ecu to relearn how it's running. changing to an actual dual exhaust with dual cats, mufflers, etc idk what that would do. I would think that installing a muffler though with a single inlet and dual outlets would be fine with both the operating system and to pass inspection. Just stop by an inspection station and ask an inspector. I am pretty sure they are primarily going to only really check or leaks. This may also depend on if you have emissions tests where you live or not, we do not.
