Two days ago we had a big snow storm. I was driving on my street in 4 wheel and goosed the throttle to get a feel for how slippy the roads were. I got tire spin and the LSD and ABS lights come on and stay on for the rest of my trip around the corner (4 wheel didn't feel like it was working). I turned the truck off and on again and the lights were off.

This morning I was taking a picture of my odometer showing my first 1000 miles. My pride quickly faded as the lights came on again before I even put the truck in gear and I heard clicking like the brake controller trying to compose itself. I turned the truck off and on again and completed the 8 mile drive to work without further incident.

I'm taking it in to the dealer on my day off. Anyone else experience this issue?

Toyota tech. found OBD code U0073 ( said the ABS/Trac. Control was talking to the Navigation system and causing the issue). Saw my aftermarket interior lights and without anything else blamed those. I researched the code when I got home and see people finding it also caused by using cheap bluetooth OBDII adapters (which I did have on during both times).

Had to pay $54 diagnostic fee because it was deemed my fault (can't disagree since I had that stupid cheap adapter on). But they basically said that as long as I'm tapped into the power system every electronic issue will be my fault so I have to route everything straight off the battery.

Be careful about OBD connectors and stay away from the "ELM327 Bluetooth" apparently.

Sounds like you need to go to the dealer.
I believe the abs light coming on is an indication of failure in the system.
When i have had the traction control kick on, only the traction control light illuminates, and only during activation; briefly.

Does your abs system still function after the failure? Or function correctly without the lights on?

I am scheduled to go to the dealer's service center on my day off (Wednesday). Both lights came on and stayed on the two times it happened so far. The roads have been clear and I don't want to push the system to test the ABS being I still have to get to work two more days. The first time it happened I had 4-hi on but it felt like I was in 2 wheel still (sliding around turns). The truck has seen a fair bit of ice and snow in the few weeks I've had it and the systems did their thing just fine. I don't think I pushed anything to any unreasonable extent, though it is a habit for me to test the traction and ABS whenever I strike out into a storm so I know if there is ice under the snow. And I'm not jamming the pedals down at every opportunity. Just once in the first storm I had it out in. My truck cost a pile of money so I don't thrash it like a rented mule. I only use 4 wheel when I feel it's needed and drop back to 2 when approaching parking lots so I'm not forcing the wheels into tight turns on plowed pavement while engaged.
