I used maxtrax the other week on a stuck Corolla in the snow. Zero issues.

I bought the TREDs about a year ago. They survived about 3 uses before one of them snapped while using it to get out of some snow. My buddy has had a set of Maxtrax for about 3 years and used them in the same situations as me, he's had no problems. The differences in them are the TREDs are thicker, which makes a steeper approach angle and therefore more difficult to get on to. They are not made from as good of plastic as Maxtrax, making them heavier and yet still not as strong. Not to say the new TREDpro's aren't as good as Maxtrax, but unless they are going to be cheaper even with the lifetime warranty I would go with the Maxtrax, at least until the TREDpros prove they're not inferior.

I use TRED's I have a set of the pro's and the 1100's. I can't even count the number of times the 1100's got me unstuck. The 1100's are comparable to the Maxtrax but there isn't any comparison between the TRED Pro's and the Maxtrax. Coupled with a lifetime guarantee (which I have also cashed in on) I'd go TRED every single time.

I have the tred pro's (2 pairs) and have used them a few times. The first time I used them it was to recover 5 trucks back to back that got stuck in a ditch on a trail in the middle of snow. I did crack the center section of one of them and TRED immediately sent me a replacement (took a couple of weeks to get it but the cracked one still worked for the most part). I have since used them countless times over and over on the trails or even for cars that have gone off the road during storms. I did crack another one but haven't contacted TRED yet since I keep forgetting. I have no experience with the other brand traction boards but I love the Tred Pro's and their customer service.

If they keep cracking it dosent matter if they send you new ones, what if they fail you completely, seems that the maxtrac while more expensive just dont have the problems,i have been looking at the pros and maxtrax and cant decide,i can get the maxtrax for just a little more.

I haven't had one crack in a way that failed completely. I've cracked two TRED 1100s and been sent a new pair each time, meaning I now have six functional traction boards for the $150 purchase of the original pair.

For the amount of times that I get stuck, and the amount of times that the TREDs have failed completely (appears to be zero), but with a lifetime warranty, I think I'm going to go with the TREDs. Maybe if I was a more serious trail guy I'd get the maxtrax, but it doesn't seem worth the money to me. Guns are expensive too! haha

Not a deal breaker, but for $300.00 you would think they would include a set of stickers.

I found TRED Pro's for $270 shipped. Can't find Maxtrax for less than $300. I think I'm going to give the TRED Pro's a try...

Anyone have a pic or measurement comparing the difference in stacking height? Looks like the Maxtrax might stack a little tighter/shorter.

I didn't realize how expensive these things are! I actually got the TRED Pros via their Kickstarter in November of 2015. Got the traction boards and mounting kit for $160.

Haven't used them yet. Always bring them with me when I wheel though (just in case).

I don't have a pic, or a way to compare them, but my Tred Pros are 3½" tall in a tallest place.

I've literally never heard anyone complain about Maxtraxx other than price.
