I tow 2 different boats in the summer and 2 snowmobile trailers in the winter, the heavy boat is probably 4000lbs total, the heavy trailer is probably about the same. I don't know if I consider that really heavy or not? Most of the time it's a very light 1500 lb aluminum deep v or a 2800 lb 2 place trailer. I don't tow the 4000 lb snowmobile trailer at all, my buddy does with his full size, we co-own the trailer.

3:55's will be more than enough gear for that, especially behind a 3.5EB. I've towed around that weight with my 2.7 (mine is also equipped w/3:55's) a couple of times and had absolutely zero problems. No shortage of power, and not shifting all over the place either. Tow/Haul on these trucks really is great at minimizing the transmision hunting that the truck does.

Man, all this talk is really making me wonder if I should not rule out the 2.7 EB? The 3.5 is easily a $3k and I could maybe get into the leather and nav package. What's that, the Lairet?

You should definitely test drive one before you buy, at least. They get better MPG's than the 3.5 for daily driving. The towing capacity is lower, but you're not even close to maxing it out with what you tow. You should test drive the 5.0, too, honestly. Don't bother with the unboosted 3.5, though. That motor's just depressing.

Yessir! It'll be used to paint other items when I'm done with it. We were using a wire rack to hang stuff for paint so this is the new fixture. It cost me 30$ in hardware/wood.

With the amount I spent on the suspension, bumper and rehaul on the brakes I'm just trying to find a quick temporary way to get the tires out a bit more while I pay off some debt and find rims I actually like.

I'm also going to be hitting my peak travel term soon so we shall see if the suspension even makes it in before June...

4,000 lbs is nothing. I consider heavy 6k lbs or more. I have the tow package and I think I'm rated up to 8k lbs and there's a heavy tow package that will tow 12k lbs.
Yeah, Lariat is the one you'd want unless you find a really dressed up XLT or special package.

    FNG here.

I've been lurking on here since last May when I bought my Tacoma. Seeing I live in southern New Hampshire, I decided to introduce myself here. This place has been an amazing source of knowledge and I have learned so much.

This weekend I will be installing new four new Bilstien 5100 and some Deaver AALs thank you Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road for all your help. I tend to be more of a forum lurker, but come out of hiding from ime to time.

I'll post up before and after when I'm done with the suspension upgrades.

Welcome to the forum Adam, well formally at least. I started out that same way, lurked since right after I purchased then finally became active after about a year. Good luck with your lift and be sure to post images when it's done.

    Hey. What can I say?

I didn't want my first post to be asking how big of a tire I could fit with a spacer lift.
