You aughtta see my collection of milk crates! A vendor we used to deal with at work quit using them, so I had 'em drop of all of them they would give me.....Ended up with 260. Down to around 100 left. I still have a few that were my "furniture" while in college.

    Yes and yes.

LBL will probably be a one day event for me though. Work is turning into a class A clusterfuck. May only get off Saturday. I'm trying to get 2 or 3 days, but that ain't looking real promising. May be reduced to a 2AM start, driving down Saturday morning, then home Saturday evening.

    And..... milk crates R us.

Looks are really the difference. You can argue clearance, protection and weight but saving 15 lbs on a bumper ain't shit, most hybrids arent built with any more cleanance then plate bumpers and plates themselves don't realistically offer more protection on bumpers in the places replaced by tubes.

Reasonable may be subjective based on the last half of the last sentence you wrote. If you feel that strongly towards aftermarket pumps, I'd buy the oem one.

I had all that removed anyway so I'm not sure. But it wasn't that hard. I found the bolt that people say to cut off because it hits the ac compressor but all I did was rotate the whole rack and pinion forward and pull the bolt out. It would be real easy if I had a lift instead of on the ground. It was under 2 hrs from me posting the pic of no steering rack to steering rack back in so add 30 mins to that for removing it. The bushings were easy to change. They aren't even glued in. Haha

The guy who owns Moog (and has several Bumper to Bumper stores too) is a member here where I work. He's told me a few things over the years, most of which is common knowledge, but it's good to hear it from a legitimate expert.....Find a Remanufactured pump, vs a rebuilt if you go that route. Rebuilt indicates that they stopped at replacing a bad part rather than a complete "rebuild". Reman is built to new spec.

Just for shits and giggles, have you priced a "new" pump through Toyota?

That OEM pump...? Do you expect to drive your truck another 100,000 or more? Now that it's not a daily driver, even if you did, it would be YEARS before you should expect that pump to fail unless it's first 71K has been torture.... I'd be tempted to go that route myself.

That's my thinking. The OEM lasted 225k. One with 71k should be a no brainier for ~$20 more than aftermarket, right?

Haven't priced one from Toyota because I don't have any kids to sell at this point.
