    Hey guys,

Just figured I'd make a little intro thread here for my first post. I've been lurking for a couple weeks here. I'm studying mechanical engineering at Goergia Tech in Atlanta but grew up just outside of Chicago. I'll be graduating in May and moving to Tucson, AZ in May/June to start a new job as a systems test engineer at Raytheon Missile Systems.

I've mainly spent the majority of my automotive life with road cars and sports car racing. I've had an 80 CJ7 Renegade, an 87 Mitsubishi Starion, 08 BMW E90 335i, 91 blown foxbody, and my current fleet is an 01 Expedition XLT AWD/4WD and an 87 MR2 (that is for sale to fund my move if anyone is interested ;) ).

I'm really excited to move west and expore the beautiful country out there. I plan to buy a certified preowned or new 3rd gen and slowly build it to eventually be a long travel overland-ish rig. Something where no matter if I'm going south to Baja, North to Moab, etc, I can hop in the same rig and know I can handle most anything I get myself into within reason and camp out of it while exploring national parks or whatnot.

I'm looking forward to meeting the AZ local guys and join in on as many trips and rides that I can to explore and meet some awesome people!

    Cheers
    -Justin

I gots family in Tucson. Lived there 8 years myself.

Thankfully I spent most of my time up in the NW side of town. Oro Valley, Marana, county areas outside Tuscon city limits.

Did security for a Raytheon exec once... for a day... interesting off duty job back then.

Got any pics of the Starion?
I've been looking at these recently, there's one for sale in SD that looks good.

Thanks, all! such a friendly group here :)

Thank you! It was! a little bit of northern cancer but over all it was a clean car. Bought it with 86k miles on it. sold it with 110k I think? I rebuilt the entire suspension/subframes my first winter with it, ended up having to swap a new motor in, etc after a tuning mishap following a fairly big engine side build the second winter with it. That was my car back in highschool, the days where literally every dollar I made could funnel into that money pit due to no overhead costs... those were the days....
