The only gimmicks I have found to actually work are on early fuel injected Japanese motorcycles.

For example, the Suzuki TL1000 had "flappers" on top of the air box. They opened under WOT and caused it to run waaaaaaaay lean if you cracked the throttle quicker then Suzuki thought you should. So, glue them shut, and the bike runs the way it should...

It was an early way to "tune down" the bike. But now, all the litre bikes come with pre programed "fuel modes"

I have personally found that any time you get more power from a truck, you loose fuel mileage, when in theory, it should improve ( lead foot syndrome)

I have 2 Q1's I'll sell if anyone is interested for $20 each, shipped. I ran them on my '06 V6, and on my wife's '01 Highlander V6.

I saw no power difference on my 4.0, but I definitely saw an increase in low-end torque on her 3.0, where it previously had noticeable lag. I only ran them about a month, not long enough to get fuel mileage data.

I mostly removed them because I didn't want to cut my engine cover, and it bugged my OCD having it push up on the cover, though it did fit fine without cutting the cover. I removed the Highlander at the same time because my wife didn't really care about it.

I removed my Eco-Block today and was going to offer it on here for free.

Instead I decided to put it out of its misery.

    There all fixed. :smash:

yikes how did I run across this thread again, I posted on here when the OP first started the thread, stating that this spacer was basically a joke...I see the OP still only has 7 post from 2015... LOL

So how many suckers are out there? Maybe try partially taping your MAFS next time?

Ok all jokes aside, Did you get your money back? I remember crawford was offering money back, guarantee satisfaction.

plus both laney and quirt only posted on this one thread..........

I got an Ultragauge to monitor the difference with and without the EB in my truck. I have a volant intake, intake manifold spacer, URD Y-pipe, and TRD cat back exhaust chopped after the axle with no tuning done.
I unistalled the EB and monitored fuel trims. Without, the truck ran rich with long term fuel trims at about -9% to -11% and short term ft at about 3 to 6%.

I installed the Ecoblock maf spacer and ltft dropped to almost perfect at -.78% and stft to about -2 to 2% (hovering around 0%) Zero trim means that the air/fuel ratio is good and the computer doesn't need to compensate and trim the fuel, and better drivability.

So, it just so happens that with the combo of mods I currently have, the Ecoblock "tuned" the truck air/fuel to a way better range than without. These fuel trims were monitored at cruising speed and during acceleration in closed loop, from about 1500 to 3600 RPMS.

I also monitored the truck in open loop and did several wot runs. The AF ratio was pretty spot on, at about 12.5 from 3000 rpms and richens out to 11.95 close to redline. I did some digging and you would want about 12.1 at WOT for a NA 1grfe.

So, the Ecoblock spacer will stay installed.

I'm not saying it'll work in everyone's truck but it makes mine run very good. I guess with the combination of mods I have, the spacer optimized my AF ratio in open and closed loop.

Welp I decided to try this in my 2.7l. Just threw CEL and P0101 codes. Nothing I did could fix it. Can't say I noticed a difference in performance or economy. Back to stock and going to return the eco block.

You dont need or want this since you have HPtuners you have full control. This is for peeps that dont have that capability.

UCON of course is a different tune than stock and I'm sure Scott has optimized the maf scaling.
Same with HPtuners. Its maf scaling which means calibrating the maf to intake tube size.
What the spacer does is pull the maf away from the center of the tube so the maf doesnt "see" as much air that actually being pulled through the engine.
Think of this as a simple trick to use if you are not tuned.
