The height of box was an inch or two under the lip of the bed sides so you could say it was more like a bed cap.
Maybe someone with a bed cap can chime in on their before/after bed cap mpg gain/loss

That was the conclusion from that episode of mythbusters. A shell or bed cap will help gas mileage. Filling the bed to act like a shell or cap would have the same affect.

Yeah, I was curious because I still need to leads from my rear taillights to my retros to get the switch back function going. Was just going to use T Taps I have, but am considering solder. Guess just score existing lead a tad to expose copper and will solder to that...

Checked a little while ago before running out to the store to get groceries (on the clock, but I'm salary so even when I'm at the grocery store on Saturday I'm still "on the clock").

    • COLD inflation psi is 44
    • MAX inflation psi is 65

I'm seriously running my tires on low pressure, methinks at 35 each. I'm going to pump them up tonight because all that shit about tailgates down and bed caps are nothing compared to running around on under inflated tires.

So yeah, I'm a total fucking idiot and didn't read the tires, only the sticker on the door (which is for the stock tires, right?)

    *sigh*

Maybe you should wear an Ice T's Body Count "Cop KILLER" t-shirt, have Fuck the Police tattooed on your forehead and no pants at all.

They'll be so impressed with your giant brass balls they'll actually pay you money before you leave the courthouse. Foolproof plan. Nothing could posibly go wrong...

Not posting a picture for obvious reasons, but I am now sporting new license plates. Kentucky "Friends of Coal" tags.....Some of the money generated goes to reclaim abandon coal mining ground. An example of ground recovered and used for "recreational use" is Black Mountain Off Road Adventure Area in Harlan Ky.

Plus, the plate is mostly black and VERY cool looking!

Did you consider getting actual bolt-on Rock Sliders with the top plates so you could also use them as steps? Those look to be purely for a step as they don't have very beefy attachment points, granted those are much cheaper than sliders that you'd have to pay to have line-x'd or powder coated.

They are more for door dings and basic protection from me doing something stupid. I may have my buddy fabricate beefier attachment points down the road. For now I'd just like to survive this winter up here. It says 1-2 months to ship. hopefully that's not the case. Although there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Some ski resorts are talking about staying open until July 4th.
