Yeah. My vacation request was denied. So I got a cousin to take my spot at the Tac Conf. I won't be able to leave until Friday evening after work, but the plan is to load up Thursday night and leave directly from work. That should get me there between 7-8 Friday night.

I put them on for a couple days to test the fit, they were good of course. However, the noise was horrible :anonymous:. But, I'll have them on for LBL. :mudding:Just have to turn my bionic hearing off:lalala:

I like mine, it works good. Grab a good external speaker for it...I tried a couple but the Uniden Bear Cat is the latest one and it's alot better than the cheapos I bought first. There's a bolt holding a bracket in the 3rd gen trucks in the passenger side footwear under the glovebox...just mounted it there, no drilling.

Best sound quality for an external speaker (that I have personal experience with) is the one Road King sells. It's usually available at truck stops. A bit bigger than some, and it's CHROME, so it stands out like a sore thumb, but the sound is clear and crisp.

Replacing my Cobra 19 DX 4, external mounted above the gas pedal. Hopefully this one will work better. Still need to sort out my antenna issues

    Hey Bill! @Bluegrass Taco

I heard people on CB this morning on channel 19! :woot:
Some weren't very clear though. Played with squelch, to no real avail, but I heard them nonetheless.

Very poor reception can be a side effect of SWR being a mile off. I'd do whatever it takes to get that dialed in as soon as possible. Most prominent issue with SWR being off is overheating the radio, doing damage at some point.

Ah shit man! I really don't think I screwed anything up yet. Never even leave it plugged in while the truck isn't running. I have everything connected and the knobs turned 'off' every time I plug it it in, and then roll the volume to 'on'.

It takes sustained use to burn one up. You should be good.
