I like the shield. It's a little smaller and snappier especially with a hot load but I can shoot well with it and it's easily concealed.

I do like the double stack of a glock like a 26 or so for concealed though.

I agree. Biggest thing about the Shield for me is how easy it is to conceal. I can carry IWB all day with the Shield, a double stack Glock though... its doable forsure.. just not as comfortable. Have had my eyes on the Glock 43 for some time now. Gonna see if my ole' man will send me his via PPT.

Haha she actually will do all the work, but I have to help at times and monitor. She's 6 and really good at them but gets gets the occasional minor detail wrong and I have to go through and figure out what isn't lining up.

Yeah the grandparents started getting them for her at 3 years old and I had to put them away. She had no clue what to do and I would have to build them. Now she's a pro but 1500 pieces is a beast.

If you like the Shield I would keep it. Apex makes a replacement LCI (loaded chamber indicator) for $20 they have 2 types. 1 that does not come up at all and another that comes up halfway. Check with your IA and see if they will allow it for CCW.

Yeah the Shield is small enough to where you can carry it just about anywhere on you and still feel good. That's another reason I sold the Glock 27. It was sub-compact for sure, but was still a double stack at the end of the day, and it was easily noticeable when I wore tighter fitting clothes. I could never get into carrying a handgun that was Glock 19 size or bigger, took up to much room on my side and got in the way too often. The shield fit perfectly. The Trex Sidecar looks awesome. I cant imagine having an extra loaded magazine next to the handgun would make much of a difference in comfort levels and you double your capacity.

Hopefully I will be buying one in a couple of weeks after I get back from Hawaii. I found one without LCI and can do PPT.

This sounds awesome. I'll look into it today. Since my current CCW permit expires in less than a month I don't really care about keeping it CC friendly; (if its something I can take on and off the firearm when needed). For 20 bucks, might not be a bad investment if it means falling back in love with the Shield. Thanks for the tip!

I've thought about doing the trigger enhancements a few times, but after getting my permit, the reality of if I ever had to fire my weapon at someone and having to face a jury/court kicked in and I figured any internal mods like trigger enhancements to a CCW could literally be a deciding factor in a guilty/not guilty verdict for me.

I actually like the shield trigger wayyyyyy more than my glock triggers. I feel like Glocks always have that "mushy" feeling to them, whereas the shield has a stupid crisp break. I love it

Is there an actual legal precedent for the idea that modifying a carry weapon for personal use makes you a murderer instead of a person who defended themselves legally, while legally allowed to do so?

Or is that Massad Ayoob's bullshit trickling into everybody's fear?
