Rock Assault Rear End?

So the rear end on my 01 2.7 4x4 (4.56) is shot. Beyond repair. Finding a quality used replacement is proving very difficult.

I'm considering a brand new rear end. Rock Assault is $3360 with a locker. That's 4-5 times the cost of a used one.

Anyone have one? Worth the money?

Are there lower cost, but still good, alternatives to Rock Assault?

This truck is my toy, a long, slow build. I will never give up on it, and in the end I will pay what I must to fix it. The truck is mostly street driven but does go off-road on trails/ bar roads in New England. No rock-crawling or high-speed bouncy-bouncy stuff (yet). It has a mid-travel front suspension and Relentless Fab armor. Its a couple inches taller than stock.

I know some will say I'm not looking hard enough or in the right places for a used rear end... believe me I've been looking. Its a crap shoot. Not at all confident that what shows up will be what I paid for.

two options with 4.56 gears stock

go on car-part.com and find a rear axle near you. They can be had for under $500.
