I gather it is an illness with this Tacoma thing. I test drove a 6 speed and I guess I got infected. Hence the name I chose for this forum. I wanted a long bed and manual with six gears so my only option was the off road package with access cab. I chose quicksand for the colour. My truck is being built and is due to complete Mar. 30 and they say I'll see it about 3 weeks after that. I thought I did my homework before hitting go with this but just discovered there might be an issue with the tranny sticking in gear. I hope with the fact this has a TSB issued that the updated parts go into my truck!

I followed the link for the factory service manual but couldn't find it. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate that.

There is plenty of good reading around here, I'm not likely to do too much right away other than put some sort of realtime OBD display on it (open to suggestions on that, ultragauge?) however I do tend to get annoyed with things like seatbelt alarms (I do use my seatbelt) door alarms, computers that intervene between my pedals and the road etc so down the road once I've got a warm fuzzy that it is no lemon and I'm feeling bolder I will be game for tweaking some things. I prefer a vehicle that I can lock at night without disturbing the neighborhood with a honk of the horn. I hate doors that automatically lock themselves. I loved that about my VW with a VAGCOM tool and being able to customize the software options but after what VW corporate did to me with my last diesel....well they know what they can do. Looking forward to this new chapter.
