used a few dabs of black rtv silicone to help hold the harness in the rubber channel which is why the 2nd pic has green tape, it was holding it down till it dried fully. First pic was before I did that as you can see. And I tested it on my way home tonight from work, for a 40" things bright as heck!

    Looks Great!
I like the silicone idea, I used some stick on 3m zip tie anchors, I hate how I can see them when I drive. Good Job!

Appreciate it, and lol that's not that bad of an idea either, I never thought of that one. I put small dabs of it every 5-6 inches rather than run a line down the whole channel, so hopefully it holds well. Does have a slight wind whistle noise around 35+mph but that's what radio is for lol

18w to 30w with the HIRs.

The engineer in me always wants quantitative results too, so I did Lux tests:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/gy6-35-hir-reverse-light-upgrade-vs-high-power-leds.474996/

IR temp readings in the above thread. With plenty of research on the performance and effects.

More output with lower current draw using the HIRs than standard halogen in the thread above.

    Too much to list!

If anyone was going to do this correctly, I knew it would be you. Thanks for the link for the write up on the HIR.

Thanks, though not my original idea. I just researched and found the best performing components available and tested them thoroughly. Not quite the perfect fit of my usual threads but very happy with the performance. Massive improvement in lighting the rear view camera.

So true. I just ordered the bulbs.

And I don't think LEDs are even proper for viewing in a rear view camera. On D.C. circuits they are often turned down or have a set refresh rates that differ from the frame rate of the camera, causing the image to be darker since not all frames have consistent light. I have to look into this further.

Any close ups how it sits? My buddy is in the process of figuring out the best way to run the wiring on his roof mount light bar on his T4R.

Finished up the MV50 install tonight. Got it all wired up and connected to the auxiliary fuse block.

The red filter looked stupid so I ended up painting it.

The hose just reaches all 4 corners if you stretch it. I'm gonna go with a 25' hose vs ten current 15' hose when I find one I like.
