I've had the steering rack replaced, and the power steering pump my son cleaned the screen at the bottom of the reservoir. I just had it looked at at Les Schwab and they said there is a sensor by the power steering pump with a couple wires coming out of it that will cause it not to work does anybody know what they're talking about?

Doubt the wires have anything to do with the power steering pump. The pump is driven by a belt off the engine. Is it hard to turn the steering wheel?

How about when you are driving down the road? Hard to turn or easier as you roll faster?

Sometimes it kind of feels like it's working a little better as I'm going down the road

Sounds like either your pump or your rack is gone.

I've already replaced both those but I did get a used pump. And Les Schwab told me that it was either the pump or the air control valve or sensor or whatever they were talking about

The power steering would go out then it would come back on. So I replace the pump. And then it went out completely. So I replace the rack. And it still doesn't work

Was the air from the system removed properly? Could be just air in the system. Jack up the front with the PS cap off. Turn the wheel back and forth.

If its a 2000 Toyota Tacoma, I am pretty sure there is not a sensor or air or anything else on the power steering.
