2" receiver hitches front and rear, Lund nerf bars, TracOne cargo racks, A.R.E. DCU cap w/ double doors
Hi, first post here, long time lurker. I'm looking at putting an A.R.E. cab height DCU cap on my 2012 DCLB with the double doors in the rear of the cap. The spec sheets seem to say that the double doors are 48" wide, but I'm curious if anyone can tell me about whether that will clear 48" with the doors open straight back for driving or if that's 48" with the doors open all the way wide? The scenario I'm thinking of is if I were to pick up a sheet of 48" x 96"plywood or sheet rock would I be able to load it sticking out the rear and drive with the doors open but secured with bungees or something so that they don't catch wind. I've been searching all over and can't seem to find a straight answer. Thanks for any info!

I'll answer my own question in case others need to know, I bought a second hand DCU last weekend and it will not clear 48" flat. The hole for the doors is 48" but with the doors opens straight back like you might while driving with materials sticking out, it clears about 45". So a full sheet of plywood would have to go in at an angle. I have a utility trailer for larger loads, so that's not the end of the world for me. I really like the double doors so far.
