Yes. No fitment issues as it uses the factory airbox. And yes there is a hell of a lot of debris in the filter in very dusty environments (Death Valley).

 

It's not an artifact of the snorkel. As Matt said, the snorkel helps keep dirt out. The supercharger on the other hand...does not. There is a lot more vacuum draw vs. a NA truck.

 

So some of you know I've been toying with the idea of a bed slide system. I went through several custom renders as well as shopped every single bed slide manufacture on the market. The challenge with my truck is my batteries are in the bed which take up 10" of depth on the cab side. So no matter what, I would have to do a custom size which added cost. The cheapest I found was $1250 for just a bare basic slide.

These are cargo slides intended for RVs and buses that have storage under the seating/living area, rated at 800 pounds, and have a plethora of available sizes. For my purposes, they had a 42"x48" slide that was exactly what I was looking for and was only $370 shipped to my door. Given the price difference, I decided to risk it and see if it would work for my purposes.
Upon initial inspection I was very pleased with what I had to work with. Formed steel frame, every roller bearing was sealed, and powder coated frame.





The down side is these are intended for internal use, so the floor was just plywood with carpet. Also, the latch to lock the slide in sucked donkey dick and there was no lock out. So being parked at a decline would prove to be...shitty.

I removed the plywood floor and replaced it with a sheet of 1/4" aluminum (complements of @RelentlessFab). And given that my batteries are centered in the middle of the bed, I didn't want to leave dead space beside the batteries. So I welded in some material and corner gussets (also complements of @RelentlessFab) to the ends to hold my CO2 tank on one side, and just open cargo space on the other side.







The shitty latch was an easy fix. I removed the one it came with and replaced it with a T-latch. The same latch basically every bumper manufacture uses to lock a swing out tire carrier. 5 minutes of drilling and welding and problem solved. Not only did I drill for lock in, but also lock out so angle of parking is no longer a problem.

With the tray extended, my CO2 tank is easily accessible from the side of the bed:



Also had just enough space on the passenger side to fit my camp table:

All in with the slide, hardware, and metal...$500.

 

I always carry CO2. Totally depends on my mood and how much time I have. I normally use the compressor to air up, but if I'm in a rush, CO2 takes about 1/4 of the time. It's also what I use to re-seat tire beads and in a bind, I've used it to charge shocks.

 

Needed the room on the passenger side of the bed for other things. So whipped up a mount for the camp table on the @RelentlessFab bed rack. Cut some 2x3 rectangle tube in half to make c-channel. Worked perfectly!
