SST Tacoma Blank/w plug

I pulled the blank under the driver side vent, (the last one on the rt) and to my surprise, there is a plug there, inserted into the back of the blank.
Does anyone know what this plug is for/controls??

On my '10 TRD Sport that is where the power inverter switch is.

 

The power inverted for the plugs in the bed?? Just asking because my Taco has no plugs in the bed, just storage boxes...

 

These trucks come prewired for all sorts of stuff.

Look behind the other blanks and you will likely find more empty plugs.

 

Correct. You can add them if you want, but some models (base and some sr5) did not come with the inverter.

If all the wiring is in place you could probably get the switch, inverter and bed plug on ebay cheap. Then you can do the A/C outlet in the cab mod (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-ac-outlet-in-cab-400-watt-anytime-mod.322320/ ) , which is very useful for back seat passengers' phones, tablets and stuff for the kids like portable dvd players. And there's a whole thread about running xmas lights in the bed.
