Holy shit. First off, I love my Kimber in a big way and this makes me sad. But that would also scare the fuck outta me

 

That's my biggest fear is one of my guns being stolen and used for some crime. I'm looking into a console safe for the Runner so that I can feel like it's more than a window away from a thief. I hate having to see the 30.06/30.07 posting and turn around to go put it up. I feel like it's real obvious and makes me a target.

I have a ruger p91dc. It is not a great gun, probably why they only made it for three years. It was my first buy, and I'll never get rid of it.

 

Buy them used through Gun broker.

 

I am lukewarm on Kimber.

First pistol I ever bought myself was an XD .40 and I loved that cheap mf'er. I'm a Springfield fan anyway and if this weekend's gun show goes well I'm hoping to find an OD Green M1A to add to the safe.

 

Family friend when I was just a few years old was LEO and was on the phone with his wife when their kids found one of his weapons in the closet.

Been something I've been aware of since I was old enough to understand. Now that I have a kid and another on the way, it's even more ingrained.

My Loaded SS was a lucky find in CA at the time, and a grail rifle of mine since teenage years. It actually took me 10 years to find, and $2100 before fees and taxes when I bought it somewhere around 2008.

 

I've tried many Kimbers and actually disliked most of them. The Super Carry Ultra, though, is awesome. I carry this one most days. I really like the bobtail on the other models, but I sacrificed it in order to be able to carry a little comfortably. I'm short as fuck, so I have a short torso and a lot of barrel lengths are just plain uncomfortable.

 

CA tests are incredibly expensive for a manufacturer, so sadly not cost effective to sell here for a lot of handguns.

Rifles and shotguns are far less restrictive. Neither have really caused me to not be able to get what I wanted.

 

My SA 1911 is my favorite gun right now. Other than the .500 because it's just ridiculous.

 

I love my 40 man! Little slower than 10, less overpenetration in HD situation.
