I just got the P2442 code, 200 miles from home. Talking about inconvenience, it shuts down uphill power to the truck with the CE light and Trac off light illuminated. I had the dealership in the area I was in, reset the light and get me home. Won't come on again until I cold start it, the second time. 32K miles, < 3 years old on a 2012 Tacoma TX Pro. So disappointed that I have to deal with this now. Anybody have a fix that I haven't read here. Seems I'll be without my Taco for a while as the parts are on a national back order.

When that happened to my truck (the day after I bought it) it was a bad ECM.

Toyota replaced it and it has been golden ever since.

National back-order on air switching valves. 2012 TX Pro Taco has been at dealership for a week. Won't tear apart until parts called out by P2442 code are in hand. More later..

Update: There is no update. I still drive my little Nissan rental car, and my Taco sits at the dealership awaiting parts. Two weeks today....

It will be three weeks tomorrow since my TX Pro Taco went in for the P2442 code. Still no status update except, "parts are on national back order". See you in a week, hopefully not.:(

Got truck back today. Tech diagnosed faulty air switching valves, replaced air switching valves... Test OK... QTY 1 part No. 25710-31022 Valve assy, Air S and QTY 2 17377-31010 Gasket, Air tube... Guess I'll find out tomorrow morning on a cold start if it's really fixed. But hey, got my Taco back... No more Nissan Versa rental car. Total would have been approx $800 for fix, and another $754 for rental car fees. RIDICULOUS! More later if light returns...

Had this happen to me last week. 50000 miles. dealership wanted 1080 and some cents. Part is going for 4 hundred ish on the World Wide Web. The gaskets you could have re used. I have everything out just wondering if I should order part put it in myself or put it all back and have dealership do it.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but this might help someone. Friday night (April 29, 2016) I cold started up my 2012 DCSB Off-Road after work (bought new in 2012) and got both the CEL and the Trac Off light. As I started driving, the best I could get was about 25 mph. So straight to the dealer where it threw a p2440 code. They ordered parts and I just picked it up today, Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Replaced the Switching Valve Assembly (25710-31022) and the gasket for a total of $638.58 in parts and $216 for labor ($854.58). 56,711 miles on the odometer. Runs great now but it sounds like this part is pre-conditioned to go out between 50K and 60K.

2012 DCSB Trac light came on and check engine light. 3 codes came up
Bank 1&2 too lean and air/flow circuit range came up. Truck sputters at 20-40mph
