Chirping noise

I have a 2017 4x4 trd sport with 5k miles and have this terrible annoying chirping noise...anyone have this same problem?

 

If it is in the engine compartment then it is probably the high pressure fuel pump.

 

Thanks! Sounds like I need to take it to the dealer again...I took it before cause of the chirping noise and of course it wasn't chirping.

 

There are actually a few Threads on here about that situation, some guys had success having the Dealer install a new pump assembly while a few others were able to eliminate the noise using Ethanol Free Fuel.

I was wondering if you hear the chirp first thing in AM when slowing and then after driving a few miles it subsides?I have a 16 SR5 LB 4x4 and that noise has bothered me since day 1 but never seems to affect performance or mpg so I am at crossroads to whether to bring to dealer(was suppose to call last week,I hate the inconvenience)because it does subside, I may bring in to see what they say, of course will have to leave overnight because will probably be gone by time I get to dealer. I may have TSB for transmission done(has delay R-D or S4)also. Will post what happens.

 

I hear it anytime of the day and seems like it's getting louder. Filled up from Different gas station this morning on the way to work, crossing my fingers this works. $40k truck a little over 5k miles with an annoying loud chirp doesn't sit well with me.

 

There's a TSB on it I think and if not surely lots of info from Toyota. Dealer should be able to replace HP fuel pump without too much trouble.

 

No, not for Tacomas. There has been a TSB for FRS/BRZ since 2012, but no actual resolution is provided. Like said before, it is a known issue, but it's not detrimental to the car or functionality. Dealer will replace HPFP but cannot guarantee the noise will go away again. You may be able to minimize chirps with ethanol free fuel.

When does the truck chirp ?
Does the truck have to be moving ?
is the truck cold ?
Is the truck warmed up ?
What area do you hear the chirp ? Front or rear ?

 

I had this same thing happen at 5k. I heard it mostly in a fast food drive through. I fought with the dealership for a long time before demanding they change the HPFP. They called me crazy and said "we don't hear anything it's probably in your head" not joking. They changed my belt, pullies, idler, tensioner who knows what else. All separate trips to the dealership. Renting a car every time. It was making me crazy. I'm at 25k now and have not heard it since they changed that fuel pump.

These guys are right about it being a common problem . Good luck hope you're able to resolve this issue quicker than I was.
