I need help from those of you that have ran into my issue or have more extensive knowledge than me. I have a 2006 DCSB TRD Off Road that I want to get some rims and tires for but I have my doubts on fitment. I am not going bigger than stock on tire size (165/70R16) and I am not lifting or leveling my truck...at the moment. Since I'm going to stay at stock height for awhile I want to change, albeit small change, my offset so I can get a little bit more aggressive stance than stock (currently have stock 16x7 rims with Nitto Terra Grapplers). My question is what is the most negative offset I can get without any fender rubbing issues? I'm currently looking at 16x8 which of course will add to width but the offset is 0mm. I know stock is around 32mm so I would be "negative" from stock 32mm...little bit over 1 1/4" just with the offset. How do I add the inch of width from the bigger rim? I can't seem to figure out what my TOTAL negative offset will be with these rims. Have any of you seen or have this setup that can help me out? Either way I figure it, my new setup will stick out 1 3/4" to 2 1/4". Will either of these cause fender rubbing issues? Thanks

    Welcome to TW!

Offset is distance from the wheel mounting point to the centerline of the wheel. Since it is based off wheel centerline (unlike backspacing) your 1" additional width is split on both sides of the wheel, meaning it will push the wheels 1/2" further out with all other things remaining the same.

My tires are 17x7.5 with +6 offset and sit about flush with the fender. Your wheels are 1/2" wider (1/4" each side) with 6mm less offset (pushes them 6mm out), meaning they would stick out about 1/2" further than mine, or just barely past the fender.

See pics of how far my wheel fender alignment here:

Thanks brother...I think I have a good idea now. If they don't fit, I guess 5100 adjustables and are in my future!
