    Hey guys and gals...

I am gonna do an off road trip from Reno to Vegas (paved) then Vegas to Tonapah (Off Road) the OR portion is about 80 miles round trip or so - was wondering what kind of parts you'd recommend to bring in case of a bad day...

Also, my fenders are painted, was looking at the 3M spray protector unless you have a better suggestion, want to do my best to prevent paint chipping..

2013 SR5 4x4 DCSB equipped with Icon Suspension and soon to have rear Eaton E-Locker =)

    Thanks!

Car parts? As in extra alternator, bearings, etc...?

You will not need anything if you drive carefully and don't take any chances. If driving solo, consider adding a 2nd battery. If primary battery goes completely dead, a battery pack may not have sufficient juice to start the truck.

Otherwise the usual off-road gear: tools, tire plug kit, gas can, recovery strap, shovel, etc...

Fenders should be fine unless you plan on driving through the brush.

Don't know where you are starting from, but, from Las Vegas to Tonapah via US 95 the mileage is closer to 180 miles - one way. Anyways, many of the "off road" trails, BLM - GPS navigable roads can be traversed with a Subaru Outback. (some years ago, I did Stovepipe Wells to Beatty Nev. in a rental car and a Garmin GPS.) Not to diminish your adventure, but, a good spare, cooler and refreshments, a map, and common sense will serve you best. Unless your plan includes departing from established trails (which, if not traveling with a group could be foolhardy and dangerous), if your equipment is reliable, your adventure will be memorable and won't require more than a full tank of gas and a camera.

Our group is going Vegas to Tonapah off road - near Groom lake. Nonetheless, thanks for the reply.
