2004 tacoma clutch problem

Hello everyone, this is my first post on tacoma world. i was given a 04, 4 cyl, extended cab, 4x4 tacoma in a trade for some side work. thing had been sitting in the guys driveway for about 5 years, tires all dryrotted, drum brakes were locked up. Anyway the main issue is that it wont drive, and when i was towing it to my house, it was making a clunking noise in the front suspension like a cv axle was broken or something, havent really looked at that yet.

So of course i would say it needs a clutch... but its weird, the clutch isnt grabbing at all. like i could have the truck running and put it in every gear without pushing the clutch pedal and nothing happens. in other cars that have bad clutches, theres still grab, it just slips before it can move the vehicle... this truck has nothing. is it possible to wear a clutch that badly or should i be looking elseware for the problem?
