Cruised on over to Huntsville, AR today because the gas there is cheap. The airport is on top of a hill with drop offs on each side. Also has this old (and short) decommissioned control tower. Pretty cool place!

Sometimes when I'm on a long cross country by myself I'll move over to the copilot seat because the cushion is better since it hasn't been sat in as much. The Cardinal could benefit from new seats, but I just got word last week that the engine needs a valve job. Don't really know what to expect for the cost of that.

I learned this years ago from being a plane owner. Boats are a hole in the water. Planes don't need a hole, or water. They just eat money. Still, I miss flying. :(

Yeah, probably going to cost a pretty penny. We're going to have it done at the annual in May

Ya I've done that in our old 172... the Mooney it isn't so easy to switch seats since you're effectively laying down with your legs pretty stretched out

Good luck with that engine work... I found out that there's an AD on the cylinders on our P210 and they need to be junked at 1k hours... with a TBO of 1700 and the plane flying 400 hours a year, I think we're just going to go the factory remanned route at 1k hours and reset the TBO clock.

ugh... that's going to be pricey

...^^^... About 65 years since first flight .... production on that big bird was for about 10 years from 1952-1962 and they are still operational in some capacity today.

The crew were intending to perform a low level fly past down Boeing Airfield's runway on their way back; a very cool nod to the employees to show "see it still works!"

Here's one for @SOSHeloPilot. Coast Guard Bell 429. One of the SAR Techs, i believe it was; his daughter got to come along on these PR trips, and she had her own custom made dry suit.

RCN Sea King. We kept asking if they brought the spare with them.
