I'm getting there... just finishing up gathering allies (I went to Orzammar last) so I still have the Landsmeet and whatever lies after that. I get, at best, 3-4 hours a week to game so I figure I'll be done some time in March. But then Dragon Age Awakening comes out... ARRRGGHHHH! I'm signing off to go play some more now... I'll be damned if I'm going to have ME2 and DA:A both waiting on my desk!

Ayup - you gots a ways to go even without doing the sides. The game is awesome in the way the main quest branches out. Some of the side quests are incorporated whether you like it or not. Good stuff. :)

Hellz - go ahead and installl Me2 -- variety is the spice of life.

Same problem here. I have copies of STALKER: Call of Pripyat and BioShock 2 already downloaded and waiting, but need to finish up ME2 first.

    Pesky franchises.

i heard bad things about that game. attack of the show ripped it apart

i'm gonna play it twice probably and i'll do that the second time around. i was a chick in ME1 (and i totally lezzed out with one of those blue alien bitches). this time i wanted to be a guy. can you change your class when you import a character? i was a soldier in ME1 and i'm playing as a soldier now but i want to play as a biotic the second time. the instruction manual says you can change class but i haven't tried it

This game rocks! I played the first one a few times through trying out difference character build types... Very nice

Now the 2nd one is no let down at all. The story line picks up after the last one and you see a few of the old characters but for the most part its a new set of challenges and puzzles. to overcome.

I have put about 15 hours into the game so far and depending on how you want to play it you could complete it in about 30 hours or enjoy the game and explore the areas, take the side missions and quests. So far fantastic!

I finished it, clocking in around 35 hours. I did the following:

    - Collected full crew.
    - Did all crew loyalty missions.
    - Probed all planets to "poor" or "depleted" resources.
    - Did all anomaly missions found while surveying/mining planets.
    - Main storyline.
    - Did the vast majority of side missions available on the main worlds (Ilium, Omega, Citadel, Tuchanka, etc.)

If you did every single sidequest and mined every planet down to depleted, you could probably get 45 hours out of it.

But frankly, I'm not inclined. 35 hours for a thorough run is plenty, plus there's the option to go back as the other gender/alignment and see what's different, and make some different choices.

Looking forward to mass effect 3. Should be fun.

Fun fun game. Haven't finished it. But I'm taking my time.

That and on my current rig it's just nice to enjoy the visuals. Since no one is in the Legendary forums any more I'll just tell Som here.

AMD Phenom Quad Core @3.4gig, 4 gigs Viper DDR2 and SLI evga 8800 GTS OC.

    Ah, it's beautiful. :)

    Niiiiice.

I'm still rolling on a 5 year old rig that has served well. Rebuild time somewhere in the next year or so.

Jesus, have we really been discussing this mess for 9 years now? Unreal engine baby!

Yes, yes we have. Remember when they were going to redo Unreal with Unreal 2 technology? Damn that'd be hot still. BTW, that AMD can be had for a very nice price and apparently OCed quite stably to over 4.0gigz. I haven't yet cause it's such a beast that there is no need to, but gawd damn!

as long as we're comparing systems.... i got a white xbox. 12 gb hd. one black controller (the white one it came with mysteriously got destroyed when i threw it full force into our stone fire place in a fit of drunken furious anger), 2 AA batteries, covered in dust, makes slight scratchy noise when i start it up. whatever, no big deal. dont like to rub my system in the faces of guys who can only afford crappy gaming computers. suck it you bunch of poor bastards

that sounds about right i guess if you are in a hurry. i like to take all the time in the world on games like this.

does anyone know if you can change the class of your imported ME1 character?

Yes, you can change your class from ME1 when you import to ME2.

My issue is the mobo. This thing is all based around an Nforce 4 SLI, which is Socket 939. In 2005, it was the newest, hottest thing on the market. The fact that, with an upgraded GPU and some extra RAM, it's still kicking 5 years later on UE3 and Crysis games speaks volumes.

That said, I wonder how much longer it can crunch numbers fast enough. The latest iteration of STALKER gets it chugging. Crysis 2 will no doubt bury it....along with whatever iD is cooking up with Rage.

So, it's ground-up system rebuild time relatively soon. Looking forward to trying out some of these new innovations over the past years...SSD drives, quad core, etc...

my only real complaint is how you explore planets for materials. in the first one you would land and drive around in a badass truck thing. that was cool. this whole scanning a planet from orbit is so time consuming and tedious. i cant stand it. at least before you got to drive over mountains and stuff
