I had BB installed a sub and amp recently. Now the clock can't display the time and can't reset. Also lost the HD weather even after connected to IP7+

Had their tech checked again and couldn't find anything wrong. They refunded the labor charges.

    Any advise?

    Thanks

My advice is don't go to Best Buy... I had a sub, speakers, and amp installed in my truck last month and they scratched the hell out of everything and cut wires I told them not to. They also drilled a gaping hole in my stock speaker mount and didn't use any of the plug and play accessories that came with the Focal Toyota speakers I had them install.
After the install, one of the tweeters had a loose wire and sounded like shit. I took everything apart to see what they did and saw broken panels and clips missing.
I had to Dynamat it to make up for all the loose panels vibrating and replace missing clips.
Best Buy is like the McDonalds of car stereos.

Did they mess with the antenna? Sounds like they may have unplugged or cut the cable.

Weather and GPS time, I believe, comes in through the antenna.

Do you have XM? If yes, see if any stations or preview station is coming in.

Although I'm sure the HD Radio may have been affected, especially if they touched the antenna, the time issue may just be a fluke, I've had the time on mine go blank like that a couple of times. I think they really just dropped the ball in general when it came to these head units. It may be responsive, but its still buggy.

Was the new amp wired in to power all the speakers or just the sub? In any case they would have needed to add in a new wiring harness to go between the HU and the new amp. My guess is that they screwed up the wiring on the new harness. The only way to check it would be to remove the HU and verify how the new harness was wired in. Might want to find someone who is experienced with doing it or read through some of the DIY guides in the TW audio forum. The HU pops out fairly easily, just need to be careful when removing the dash frame around it.

It's not that hard to pull the HU, super simple. I bet they don't have everything connected

Weather data comes in over HD radio. Time comes in over GPS.

Something's not connected, hopefully just at the back of the headunit.

As @Duckman says it's trivial to get in there. Pull the radio/vent trim straight off. Undo the four 10mm bolts. Pull head unit out.

This young lady shows you how easy it is to do, although it may require several viewings to be sure:

Fun tidbit - drove across the AL/GA state line yesterday and the HU popped up with a time change dialog as I was in the middle of the bridge over the Chattahoochee.
