Center pin torque lb?

I have searched but you many different answers. I'm going to add degree shims to a set of Dakars. The kind that has on one, no slide in. What do you torque the center nut too? Also, blue or red locktite as well? Thanks

 

Torque spec is 30ft#'s, but be careful, the pins that come with the shims won't torque to that. I had to re use the ones that came out the Dakars. You could torque em lighter, like 20ft#'s. I don't see that either would really make a difference.

 

The pins and steel shims are from Wheelers.

It really isn't, but I snapped the first pin, didn't take a chance with the second

I just torqued it to what my gun was capable of (probably 60-80 ft. lbs) I used allen head bolts. They come hardened equal to grade 8. Torque away.

I may be wrong, but I believe they are 3/8 pin holes. Unless your packs have larger holes.

 

I think you are right. I'm going to have to take the bolt and spacer the Ace Hardware and see if I can find something to fit the center pin head recess on the shim.

 

Hate to barge in here with no insight, but what are degree shims?

 

Long, thin, varying degree shims to correct the angle lost on lifting the rear of the truck. About 1° per. Inch

 

IIRC. They help take off to lower RPM vibes
