44 mag. Still working up on H110, these are 21 grs seated to 1.666 is giving be just a bit of compression. I'm only a bit over some published max loads yet. No gas checks so I can't push much more.

What is the current velocity? What are you trying to work up to if you are already over published loads?

Haven't got these to the chronograph yet. My goal is just a hot heavy load. I have a favorite load from 180 gr up through 310

Just asking, but if you are over book loads and haven't run them across a chrono, what you are working up to? Hard extraction? Extruded primers?

Don't bother with the .223 or .308, rounds are cheap enough and the accuracy of those rifles can't touch the 6mm and 6.5's in my herd.

To the point of showing flatter primers or leading the barrel, whichever happens first. I have never had a hard extraction, with any hot load.

Now you made me curious myself. Despite the weather ( 20's and 30 mph wind gusts) I ran a cylinder thru the gun. 1189-1218 fps with 21 grs of H110, 310 gr flatnose cast and a tight crimp shot out of my 7.5" Ruger SBH. Primers still not flattened fully and cases drop out.

Sounds good. I run 325gr at 1200fps through my 7.5in RBH 45 colt. That should be a very effective load.

By looks and feel, I can keep going, but there comes a point if diminishing returns where more powder doesn't make any more velocity. With a good grip, they are still quite manageable.

I find a max of 1200-1250fps to be shootable but still have max terminal performance. Anything else is just noise and recoil. I'd much rather have the heaviest bullet I can get to 1200fps than velocity in a handgun. I've used up to the .475 Linebaugh but just don't see the need for it any more. Your 310gr loads should shoot through anything you encounter.

A small bag of M856 tracers to mess around with. If I have a gun that will stabilize them.

I cast the 44. The tracers were part of a group buy.
