I need some help guy's. I just bought a 10' Jon boat for a local mountain lake. Electric motors only. My question is: what do I need to look for in a motor and battery for this type of fishing. Mostly crappie and bass.

Id go with a deep cycle marine battery. The trolling motor just has to be the right length and not excessive thrust. The new ones have an anchor option or spot lock which basically stops the boat when you press the button and keeps you from drifting.
