Hey all out there in Tacoma world, how's things? Just picked up my latest toy/daily driver over the weekend on 3/11. She's an '05 trd off-road with a just over 111,000 miles on her. Well, I was driving her around town the very next day and decided to see what she had so I hit the gas and dumped the clutch. After a hard lurch forward and a large bang and grind I found my self w no power to the rear and coasting slowly down the street. I put in 4wd and limped her home now she sits sadly in my driveway awaiting parts to make her better. Not the greatest intro bits it's mine.

Was wondering what the weak link in the driveling is? I'm thinking its the pinion gear in the 3rd member. What might I be able to do to strengthen this so it doesn't happen again. Not that I'll be dumping any clutches again but we do get icy conditions around here and don't want tires to spin then grip then end up w same problem.
