So if you have a 4 wire switch....which one goes to the illumination wire? When I tried just hooking up the green/red wire to my switch Illumination wire the switch lit up when turning my running lights on but...somehow when I would turn my light bar on with the switch, then shut it off with the switch...they would somehow stay on then with the running lights being on even though the switch was off. The switch also didn't dim with the dimmer....do I somehow hook up both wires g/r and w/g to the illumination wire?

Are you running a relay for compressor? ARB shows it uses a 5 wire switch to control a relay. I need to know more about what switch your trying to use.

Sorry...for mine it's a factory style corolla switch. This is for a light bar though...different then the arb switch. Right now it's got the 12v in...12v out....ground...and illumination. It all works fine but I don't have the illumination wire hooked up. So it only lights up when the button is on. The wiring kit for the lights does have a relay and fuse. .....like I said before...when I hooked the green/red wire to the illumination wire it seemed to work fine and the switch lit up when my running lights were on....I then pushed the botton on...the light bar turned on. I then pushed the light bar button off and the light bar stayed on. Somehow then my running lights were keeping the light bar lit. Screenshot_2017-03-06-15-45-18.jpg

I have red power in, yellow power out, 2ND red ground, black to illumination

Your getting feed back thru the switch. or switches. So I understand correctly. Your using this corolla switch for your compressor and it controls the relay for the compressor. Your light bar switch is a corolla switch also?

Just switched it to the black ground and it works better. But hooking the Illumination to the green/red does illuminate the switch bUT won't dim.....I then tried hooking up the illumination wire to the yellow/green wire coming off that extra plug ( dimmer rheostat) and now the switch dims but in reverse from my dash lights. Any idea how to reverse that?

The lights are dimmed by changing ground resistance. black to white/ green and the other illumination wire to green/red. I'm kinda of guessing because I have no idea what your switch is wired like inside. Do you have a link to it?

Ha. You may not know how but you did help me get it working...originally I had the ground running to the frame. I took that ground off and wired it to the yellow/ green dimmer wire. Then hooked the switches illumination wire to the green/red. Everything works now. Your input plus tinkering helped me a lot aND I appreciate it!

One more question for you my friend, at night when I am driving, my light on the switch gets super hot. I was talking to a friend and he said it might be a ground issue. The only ground on that system leads to the battery so I am wondering if I was supposed to add a ground for the switch? Here is the wiring diagramIMG_4769.jpg

The light your referring to dims with other dash lights correct? Is it an LED or regular bulb

If you change ground it wont dim. It's hooked in with the rest of the dash lights and fuse protected. I wouldn't worry about it. Lights get hot.

Cool man, thats what I thought. Just wanted to double check. I am sure if they are providing all the wiring, they will make sure its grounded correctly. Just wanted your 2 cents ;)
