I've wondered this same thing actually. Been looking at the valve, but no skid other than factory front. Hell, idk what "IFS" even means...

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
The I'm F-ing Stupid (IFS) skid lets you run over things you shouldn't.

or maybe independent front suspension skid.

Being a motocross fanatic all through school, my dream would be to do some rally cross for a living. Sweet as can be.

It would mean you could pull up behind someone on the trail, key your mic, holler FUCK YOU, and watch their windshield blow out onto their hood.

Wasn't too impressed with the Off road Expo. Way too much downtown in between what small events they had. Balls to the wall racing looks way more fun.

Think of it like an amp on your stereo, more power = louder radio! Not very much need for it on the trails.

does your's stick out below your skid? If so, yeah I'd consider removing it for wheeling. That would be a shit situation if she broke off or bent and messed up the oil pan. Not sure the specifics of your situation but I think they make some that are shorter / longer so maybe a different one might help? I have one for my truck, I'm just waiting for the next oil change to install but based on what I've seen in my situation it does not protrude through or below the skid plate. If it does I'll be keeping the OEM bolt and doing things the messy way.

doesn't protrude, not even close, just concerned about mud or a small rock getting in there and opening it. I might just change it out to feel better about it lol. Can likely do it with minimal oil loss

    You don't need oil anyway!

One time I "changed" the oil in my '99 Prelude, about a half quart was all it produced. Never had the low pressure light kick on either.

My last E36 car just leaked it so bad that I assumed it recycled the quart a week I put in it so I didn't change it until I had time to fix all the gaskets that were bad..lol Combination of valve cover and oil filter housing seals being bad = lots of oil loss
