I am indeed skeptical. I would be willing to bet that around town or on an FS road you couldn't tell the difference between @Greddy and @northwesttaco's trucks. And Brian even has that sweet, sweet, long travel goodness. I know that I couldn't tell any difference between mine and @GSPRunner 's 4Runner, though he once commented how much nicer mine road than his.

This was my only concern of getting digressive shocks; was that it would be too stiff on our technical trails we have around here. I don't do any fast trails or dune bashing. But I didn't want an overly soft shock on the street too considering I do 95% on-road driving. I have some other friends here who have Icons on their 1st gen taco and on a T4R Pro and they love it. I guess we'll see how it goes once I get them installed.

Per specs, 345 hp, 345 cid, and I think 390 ft-lb. I probably have weight on you too. Went to the dump over the weekend, and I am estimating truck weighs about 6000 without me or the wife in it. It pulls a trailer nicely, and goes pretty well off the line.

    Shit on a black truck.
I'm not unhappy with the Icons and won't be disappointed if it feels exactly the same. Weight in the back helped a lot to improve what I thought was a rough ride when I first installed.

Indeed. At the price point I think it's worth the risk... There are a couple guys stateside running them that you could try to reach out to. I was going to but just said fuck it...

With the 4Runner's hatch opening up you don't have really need the function of the 270.... With the GX opening sideways I just get soaked if it's raining. And the fox wing price is absurd.

I was thinking about the hatch and limitations. I don't know how much I'll have the hatch open at base so it's hard to know whether the extra will be worthless or worth while. Worse case I could retire it to the Tacoma.

The only limitation to the 4Runner's hatch is that it's too freaking convenient. When I camped with it I ALWAYS had it open.
    8-9/10. Would wear.

Possibly when it warms up we can do a weekend meet up? I'm interested in seeing what he folks around me have done to their trucks.

Look for PNW Expedition on the FB. They plan regular meet ups, including one coming up next month. They're active here, as well.

Agreed. There are some groups on Facebook but they are mostly groups that go mudding/rock crawling. I just want to meet up with some other Tacoma folks and do a cruise or meet, my truck isn't ready to do any serious off-roading.

Our April meet up will consist of a mostly pavement run up to Mt St Helens and then BBQ and general shenanigans. This group does a good variety of trips, so chances are, you'd be able to find something at your level. My truck isn't ready for anything serious, either, so I totally get it.
