I love replacing my suspension with new c/o's...always reveals what else is about to go.

So, my uniball in my UCA is knocking?

Is this a sign that it is toast?

jack the truck up so the wheel is off the ground a little. Stick a long bar under the wheel and lift up the wheel while watching the uniball. If it's bad, you will see it move up and down. wiggling the wheel won't always reveal it, so the pry bar works way better..

How do you fix this? Can you replace just the uni ball?

I had the truck off the ground and can move the UCA by hand and hear it knock.

Gotta take the UCA out of the truck and have the old uniball pressed out and new one pressed in

If it moves when you wiggle the wheel, it's beyond bad. It's been bad for quite a while if it's that bad and knocking. BTW, you don't need a press to remove the uniball. You can use a vice with a driver(socket) or a BFH.

I have never had success banging them out with a hammer. If you can get that done there is another trick for the install. Put the uniballs in the freezer for a while before you try to install them in the UCA, pretty much drop right in.

Is there maintenance you can Do? Beyond trying to keep them free of sand and grit?
