If I use a heat gun will these come off? Will they reveal holes in the hood?

Bug deflector. They should be able to come off. Check under the hood for any screws that might line up with their location, but I highly doubt they install that way.

Rubber things that go under the bug deflector. I was going to put a new bug deflector on, but I noticed the rubber things aren't evenly spaced across the hood, and I'd rather get the MPG gain by removing it if possible.

Nice nipples. Have you tried pulling on them with your teeth?

These are from OEM bug deflector. I have them on my truck too. Bug deflector got old, brittle and finally shattered years ago, nipples stayed. I replaced bug deflector with AVS one but I did not remove the nipples.

Now answering your question, they are glued (like double sticky tape), and after so many years, the glue might actually blend with the paint. Even if nipples are cleanly removed, there will be visible spot on the paint. Having that said, if you still want to remove them I would rather use non-aggressive solvent like rubbing alcohol or methanol. I'm not sure if heating it will do any good, as normally the hood gets very hot on sun and nipples did not fall out.

    Patience is a virtue.

In time they will fall off. All by themselves. No help needed. Mine have, every 5 or 6 years :annoyed:

But fortunately the paint underneath them is not discolored (white paint).

Mine fell off many years ago. I put some on my moms knew 4 runner with a bug/stone reflector. Just was some strong sticky tape. As soon as i put them on there was no taking them off or moving them.
